What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is an ancient practice, enriched by modern scientific understanding, centered on the powerful idea that how we breathe can significantly impact our quality of life.

By learning to control our breath, we can cultivate self-awareness and self-regulation, empowering ourselves to relax, energize, or find balance.

From the natural efficiency of breathing less and through the nose, as highlighted by James Nestor, to addressing health conditions like asthma and hypertension, as explored by Dr. Buteyko, the applications of Breathwork are diverse and far-reaching. A Message from Anna

The art of conscious breathing has not only enriched my life but saved it. It re-sensitised my body, reconnected me with family and gave me purpose.

I learnt something years ago, accountability is incredibly important To and For me. Paying a lot of money for personal development, coaching, and certifications kept me accountable for years - “I’m going to get my money’s worth” I’d think. “I love learning from people” I’d say. But then I realised, I’m also an “addict” to learning. So, I needed something else to keep me accountable. That became my obligation to teach.

For me, Breathwork started for myself, by myself. With time it rippled out to affect the people around me as they showed interest in joining me and then inviting me to share my practice - This, I later learnt also fit very well with my Human Design as a “Projector”.

Hence I’m here, to share Breathwork not only as an exercise, but a way of life. A form of active meditation, a body-based therapy that has empowered me to recalibrate, find balance, and significantly improve my physical and mental health. It is a path to achieving homeostasis, the equilibrium every cell in your body strives for, accessible to us through the mastery of breath control.

During Breathwork sessions, you might navigate a spectrum of experiences, from physical sensations like tingling and numbness, to states of euphoria, emotional releases, psychedelic effects, breakthrough ideas, or sometimes, a profound sense of peace or nothing at all.

Each experience is a step towards unlocking your full potential, and an act of trust and surrender to a grander process.

That’s not to say that all techniques and methods are uniformly available for all bodies and circumstances.

There are health contraindications to be aware of and traumas to be sensitive about.

Breathwork with Anna is a tailored experience - meeting you where you are at and supporting you every step of the way - for the benefit of your health, safety, and successful integration.

The aim of Breathwork with Anna is to make the unconscious conscious and to “create habits that then create us.” It is not a life-long prescription, but a choice to support health and empowered living.
